After reviewing a record number of outstanding scholarship applications, we are thrilled to announce the winners of the 2020 JCBIA Scholarship. Each of these recipients has earned a scholarship based on academic achievement, exceptional community involvement, strong letters of recommendation, and are immediate family members of a Johnston County Building Industry Association member.

Amber Reynolds - Amber earned a 4.38 gpa from Cleveland HS and graduated with honors. She has participated in the Cleveland Womens basketball program, the Choir program, and a program for special needs peers. She attends Amplify church where she leads worship services and plays keyboard for adult and youth services.  Ambers role models are her parents, and she gives them credit for shaping her into the young lady she is today!  Amber will be attending JCC and will then transfer to NC State University to pursue her studies in Forensic Science. Amber is the daughter of Fred & Kimberly Reynolds with Looking Up Construction.

 

Lanie Norris - Lanie earned a 4.55 gpa from South Johnston & JCC where she earned her Associates Degree in Arts while attending high school. She played volleyball, basketball, softball and tennis. Was VP of fellowship of Christian Athletes and a reporter for health occupation students of america! Lanie has worked as a councelor at Camp Dixie, and a youth director at Holy Grove Advent Christian Church in Benson. One of her references said "her character speaks volumes and exhibits integrity, compassion, and leadership". Lanie will be attending UNC Wilmington where she will begin pursuing her career as a Pediatrician. Lanie is the daughter of Linwood and Amy Norris with ComTech.
